riders, concluded that a trike rear end conversion kit mated
to a Longbow frame front half, utilizing the exclusive
Longbow drive belt, would yield a longer wheel base trike
in a configuration more attune with accepted three wheel
vehicle design principles. In simple terms, the Longbow
SE3 trike is closer to proper engineering guidelines than
any other trike, trike conversion or trike conversion kit.
Once the design principles were in place (to include proper
steering dynamics) other bonuses were added that are
lacking when stock motorcycles are converted. First is a
brand new design of V twin motor from S&S called the X
Wedge, built to be dependable, delivering 100 H/P,
enormous torque (for pulling that trailer) and EPA
compliant through 2010. Next is a larger 7.0 gallon gas
tank for longer carefree cruising, and a Baker direct drive 6
speed overdrive transmission to breeze over the interstate.
The seat is by Corbin, the independent suspension trike
rear end is by DFT, and the "smoothie" body hides over 9
cu. ft. of storage. Last but MOST IMPORTANT is warranty.
